A Pathway To Glory
Laura Gilman, a Chicago native, began feeding her artistic side in 1980 when she attended Columbia College for a year of graphic design. Her passion for creating grew as she began teaching her children about textures, colors and nature in the early 90’s. She would design, create and hand sew her children’s costumes - even creating the winning costume in a Madeline contest in 1992. Laura involved her children in the beauty of art by making paper mache bowls, painting with water colors, and making holiday decorations resulting in many laughs.
Her mixed media art is unique, one of a kind quilted wall art using textured fabrics with delicate beading, silk ribbon embroidery , smooth stones, sea glass, water color paint and more.
Laura is now married to her childhood sweetheart. They have 2 rescue dogs and live in Adams Tennessee. She works out of their home on a bluff with an inspirational view.
